OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I seriously cannot believe we leave in 13 days!! The time has flown! And it's been so long since I updated this blog I thought I better try and fill in whats been happening this last 2 months!!

Well, we have everything prepared: visas, tickets, backpacks, vaccinations, gadgets and anything else you could possibly need on a RTW including a washing line!! (Yes, one of those peg free ones! I just had to get one!!)

There hasn't been any major news I don't think. One of Brian's best friends has just gotten engaged, so we're celebrating that this weekend as well as saying goodbye to everyone!! There hasn't been as much saving as I would have liked this month, but I've spent a lot of time going out with my friends since we won't be doing that in a long long time!! Oh, I only have 5 days left at work, so next Friday will be a very joyful day, and I am awaiting it in eager anticipation!

Anyways, I better go for just now! Alotta stuff to do!! Will try to keep updated with where we are and what we're doing! And also will try to post again before we leave!!

Well, with the tickets all booked and paid for I thought I would put up a rough Itinerary of where we will be and how long we shall roughly be in each place.

September 22nd 2005 - Boat from Shetland to Aberdeen
September 23rd 2005 - Spend the night in Aberdeen
September 24th 2005 - Fly from Aberdeen - London - LA
September 27th 2005 - Fly from LA - Nadi, Fiji
October 09th 2005 - Fly from Nadi - Auckland, NZ

The timing is a little unclear after we arrive in NZ. We have flights to Brisbane, out of Sydney to New York and from New York home booked, but we can change dates and stuff while on the road.

Roughly: We're going to travel round and work in New Zealand for a number of months, I think it's about 7 or so. We're aiming to leave NZ and fly to Brisbane sometime in May, then we're going to travel down the Gold Coast to Sydney, and after that fly to New York for a week or so, and then home.

We hope to be home about the beginning of June. I say hope, I really mean we will probably run out of money by then, I would love to travel for years!!

Me and my boyfriend first decided to go round the world about a month ago. Since then there has been frantic planning - deciding where we want to go, for how long, budgets etc! But now, since the tickets have been booked and fully paid I decided to start this blog in the lead up to our departure.... 22nd September 2005!

My name is Natalie, I'm 18 and come from the wonderful Shetland Islands. At the moment I'm working as a temporary Health Promotion Administration Assistant at our local health board. I finished school last year and took a year out before University to go travelling. I've always loved travelling - I lived in Dubai for 7 years and have been to Australia and America, plus places in Europe. I'm so excited to go away!

My boyfriend is Brian. He's 24 and has a honours degree in Journalism. At the moment he is working as a graduate placement at the Shetland Museum. This trip will be Brian's first time abroad, and we're so excited to be having this amazing experience together!

Anyways, this blog is gonna be filled with photos, details of where we are and what we're doing, and maps to track our route in each place we go.
