Christmas Pictures!

Friday, December 26th, 2008

I will be the first to admit that I have been exceptionally lazy with putting pictures up on the blog. Today though, on a hungover Boxing day while I’m waiting for Lauren to finish work so we can go out for yet another night of Christmas drinks with our mates, I have finally got round to putting some up. These are are Christmas photos from yesterday. I thought I’d add one of my ‘Mo as well for any of you who might not have seen it on Facebook.

I feel the pictures do justice to the day we had, even the slight blurry out of focusness on some of them are indicative of the amount of alcohol that was quaffed.

The Christmas Post

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Christmas is here in Oz. It’s Christmas Eve and a scorching 29 degrees outside.

Spent past few days with Midge and the kids in Croydon. Saw Trevor for a little while but he finished work late and had to leave early the next morning. Midge spoiled us rotten, I feel like a stuffed turkey after all the food and drink of the last two days.

Today Lauren got off of work early and the two of us are working out the best time strategy for the evening. My mate Amit is having us over for dinner, and no doubt a couple of sherries, at eight. I’m not entirely sure where his house is, but like I say it is searingly hot outside so it’s no problem having to stroll around in the sunshine.

Big day tomorrow, another day of eating and drinking to the extreme.

This has swung around incredibly fast, it doesn’t seem like over six months ago that I waved goodbye to my mum at Heathrow airport. Cannot wait to get to Queensland, I really feel like that’s what we be the ‘real’ Australia for me.

Merry Christmas one and all have a fantastic day tomorrow!

Ho. Ho. Ho!!! xxx

Blessed with our first real hot day today in Melbourne, a reasonable 24 degrees. Rumor has it that it's going to 30 tomorrow, but this being Melbourne, that could end up being snow. Plans for today, we're going to go to ... [Continue reading this entry]

Could have done more/lesser of two evils.

While it is pure vanity and self indulgence for me to self-reference as much as I do, I feel for the purpose of this post it is more than justified. Last week, when I posted about the moron Australian guy who ... [Continue reading this entry]

I wasn’t wrong

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
Regular readers will know that when I fist landed in Melbourne I was particularly unimpressed. First off, there was no more 'wow, I could never see that at home' factor as there had been in any of the S.E. Asian ... [Continue reading this entry]

Excessive force on my doorstep

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
Not sure how much this made international news, but last week policemen shot and killed a 15 year old boy armed with knives in a skatepark 10 minutes walk from my house. Yes, the kid had two 'very large, cleaver type ... [Continue reading this entry]

Counting down instead of up

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008
In under twelve hours now, the first half of our year long trip will have diminished into memory. Six months have gone by faster than nearly anything else I can think of. A big part of me is refusing to ... [Continue reading this entry]

Feral

Friday, December 5th, 2008
Disco dancing was the order of the night, my feet are blistered and I'm 100% cream crackered, but there's no rest for the wicked I'm afraid. Lauren had work today so she couldn't come out last night so now I'm ... [Continue reading this entry]

Near Death Experience

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008
Forgot to mention t'other day, but had a bit of a close one at work about a week ago. We were sitting as a group out in the back garden having 'smoko' (morning break.) We sit there for perhaps 45 ... [Continue reading this entry]

Liberties taken, dinner gratis

Saturday, November 29th, 2008
Just got off working a 60 hour week doing heavy lifting. My boss is an absolute liberty taker. Talking me into working the second consecutive Saturday in a row telling me that 'it'll be a short day, only 10am until ... [Continue reading this entry]
