LAX, the perils of

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Must be quick, times about to run out on prepaid internet.

LAX is the nightmare is was last time, the unbelivably rude staff almost made me want to kill, including one memeber of the trumped out bouncer squad who stand at the metal detectors being such a Cambridge Universtiy Netball Team player that his co-workers came and found us after the incident to apologise.

¿Que Tal?

Just booked onto a week long intensive Spanish language course starting tommorrow morning. 4 hours of one on one lessons a day, followed by activities in the afternoon. The activities include things such as going to the nearby villages, visiting the volcano and the most important of all, volunteering with NGO´s in the local community and we like doing that ´cos then we can run red lights and not feel bad.

We even have a homestay at a local family´s house. That would have started from Monday too, but we´d already paid 2 more nights in the hotel so it starts on Wednesay. We live with an upper middle class Antigua Guatemala family until Sunday and we get three meals a day made for us.

This all comes to just $130 each, (or 65 quid,) for the entire week. Gotta love developing countries, eh?
