Oh, Flip
The day I’ve been waiting impatiently for is finally here, it’s our last full day in Australia. At long last.
This, of course, brings with it its own set of specific issues. I’ve got $AUD800 in the bank that I need to either transfer into my HSBC which looks like it’s going to be a freaking mission to achieve, or just change straight into USD and hope I don’t get robbed/get drunk and loose it.
Then I have to close my Ozzy bank account, they charge you $5 a month over here just for having one open- it’s like having an account is a privellege when you can only use certain ATM’s to take money out and plenty of accounts only let you use a hole in the wall six times a month. I was recently told that back home in Blighty banks are considering making a flat rage charge for using any ATM, even the bank’s own. Tell me it ain’t so? It’s enough to make me want to go postal in a Halifax.
We spent a frantic hour last night booking our Fijian and L.A. hostels. I refused to enter my card details into an internet cafe in King’s Cross but the place we went to looked dodgy enough anyway. I’m praying they haven’t used computer wizardry to steal from me. That would suck bigtime.
Then a couple more things that desperately need doing before we leave Australian soil before heading to the world’s biggest Imax cinema to watch the dark night. Awesome.
