I was too lazy to deal with moving to a hostel, so I paid $70 to spend an extra night in the hotel. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/temple-day.html Was up and in the dining room at 7am to bulk up for the culmination of our trip: the Great Wall of China. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/great-wall.html Got up disgustingly early once again to visit the Summer Palace. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/summer-palace-and-silk-market.html Today was ridiculously busy - we were up early to visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City with a local guide. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/tiananmen-forbidden-city-huiling-and-shopping.html Datong was a small city with not much to offer, so we really only saw the area around our hotel. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/datong-to-beijing.html We had one more day and night left in Pingyao, before an early rise and long bus ride to the northern city of Datong. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/pingyao-to-datong.html We arrived in Pingyao at a disgustingly early hour. http://blogs.bootsnall.com/megan/coal-and-kung-fu.html The day of the terracotta warriors deserves its own entry.
