Mi Amor..bleh!

Of course, travelling alone, I have tons of stories of random guys hitting on me...here is one of them!

Last I left off, Frances and I went to the Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo. It was pretty neat - cultural dances. Although it was a tad bit touristy!

After that, we headed to the Plaza de Armas in search of Mexican food. Down one path, restaurant alley, we were given lots of fliers for clubs and bars. We went to one Peruvian-Mexican-Italian place. It was really good food.

During our dinner, a band came upstairs and played traditional Peruvian-Andean music. They were really good. They were playing drums, flute, guitar, small guitar, and making strange noises with their mouth, like whistles and bird noises. The guitar player was annoyingly flirty with me. I was just enjoying the music and their show. We talked a bit..what is your name, etc. He asked me to go dancing with him later. I told him I have a boyfriend, and he said, it does not matter. Yuck. He asked Frances, and she said the same. But I was his amor..jeez. Anyways, I tipped him with my fake sole. Had to put it in circulation somehow!!! So that was that.

The next day, I went to see the parades again. It happens that they are parades for the end of colegio...not quite the fiestas patrias yet. I planned to meet up with Frances at 1pm in the Plaza Santa Catalina. As I was walking from the Plaza de Armas to the Plaza Santa Catalina, someone says ´hola´. I turn, and it is the guitar player from last night!! Ugh! Of all the hundreds of people in the Plaza de Armas, I have to run into him! He walks with me to the Plaza Santa Catalina. I see Frances, and have this dreaded look on my face. He won´t leave! Here´s how the conversation went...

- How many days do you have in Cusco?
- This is my last day
- What are you going to do tonight?
- Go to a briefing for the Inca Trail
- What are you going to do after that?
- I need to sleep because I need to get up early

Gawd, he was difficult to get rid of!! We were eventually able to get rid of him when I told him that we needed to leave.
