October 31, 2004Maybe not Wuhan
After posting some questions about Wuhan on lonely Planets Thorn Tree and getting serious negative feedback about Wuhan we have decided to widen our search for some where to teach. we have decide that you cannot have too mayy options when it comes to china as its such a big country and you may as well be totally happy with where you are going to live. Wuhan was very attractive to start off with as Chris from Teach in China is Australian and that made us feel very comfortable to deal with him. I does not mean that we may not end up in Wuhan but the whole Temperature thing is a bit of a worry not sure how much I would like 35 plus degree days for an extended Period of time over summer and having to wear slacks to class. Have been in touch with another branch of teach in china located in Hebei Provence(same province as Beijing) and they also said they could find jobs for us in March so waiting to get some more information off them about it. We would be located in Shijiazhueng population 1.5 million and only 3 hours fro Beijing. I like the fact that it is closer to Beijing it would be easy to make weekend trips to Beijing to see the sites, and that the weather is not as hot as Wuhan Comments
