October 30, 2004Why China
Well I have Lived in Maffra for all of my 31 Years of life so I decided it was time for a Change. I was Born here, went to school here and have worked here. I will be giving up a good Job to go but hopefully I will not regret it. I work for a Company Called Harvey Norman who have over 200 stores in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovenia and Ireland. Harvey Norman sells computers, electrical good, bedding and Furniture. Other countries have always fascinated me, maybe because Australia is so far away from the rest of the world and you cannot just get in your car like in Europe and drive to another country for a visit. China to me seems like a very interesting country, one on the verge of becoming very westernised but still very old world and cheap to live in. I am looking forward to visiting places you only read about like Beijing, The Terracotta Warriors, the bund in Shanghai. I also want to catch the trans-Mongolian train from Beijing to Moscow when our teaching is over and Rebecca's uncle is very Interested in coming over and doing the train trip with us which would be great.
