Miami & Away

well we're here! miami was an experience! we arrived after 2 and a half hours in customs to a grotty room and no way of calling home!
after a good nights sleep we felt better and headed off to exchange our amtrak vouchers for actual tickets. it took an hr and a half to get there, bout an hour to sort out and then an hr and a half back! all day basically! we managed to find the beach and then some food before the most magnificant storm i have ever seen.
it was all terrential rain, thunder and lightening so we didnt manage to get out on st paddys night after all!
on the plus side though we had a good old chat with the bar man at the hostel and another early night.
yesterday we hefted our bags to the train which ended up being a 9 hr journey instead of 5! but the trains are great - twice as much room and the seats turn into half beds.
today its looking up - we had a home cooked meal last night and fruit today!!! i've also never been so hydrated in my life - sarah drinks like a fish so i do too now!
we're heading to the pool in a bit and the view of the beach here is gorgeous - we're gonna go for a walk later. coming up in the next few days is busch gardens in tampa and we're gonna watch the derby match on sunday!!! they're liverpool supporters!
anyway will have to go but i do miss you all loads and i will speak to you next time i ring dad!
p.s. hope this makes you feel less jealous chris!

all my love

Brilliant to hear from you Laura. Looks like you're having a great time. I'm sure it will be great to watch the Derby with some American Liverpool supporters... At least the storm wasn't raging when you were trying to land (not that it would have worried me of course). I can't imagine a 9hr train journey, but i guess the trains are much better and you would get to see some of the country and speak to some locals (?)
Love you loads and thinking of you every day. Dad and Mum XX...

Mum would have written something but she said she wouldn't know what to put... Oh she thought of something "everyone's been asking about you, and she hasn't cleaned your room yet - Miss You loads"
