Warm thoughts on a cold, gray Irish day

Galway has been fun, though i guess i could have seen the sights in fewer days than five, it's been nice to hang around and soak up the atmosphere.....(while getting soaked in the process due to solid rain the last two days).

Some thoughts on Ireland:
Irish people are absolutely the nicest, friendliest and most talkative folks i've ever met, anywhere.
The honor system is alive and well here (as in, you tell them how much time you used their internet system, or how long you're staying, and they trust that you're telling them the truth....you can cheat on things, but you certainly don't want to, as karma will bite your dogma.
A warm pub serving a creamy pint and a full bowl of Irish stew, along with rich conversation with a local- makes for a perfect Irish day.
Some of the charms of this place are due to the lack of "all mod cons", and its cool that they don't care that the light has no shade on it and that the dishes don't match. I like that.
I seem to make friends wherever i go by remembering that it takes one to make one.
God has been very, very good to me!
I really, truly love and appreciate my family and my loyal friends.
I have pure passion for travelling, writing about it, taking photos, and sharing my experiences.
I am an old soul with an extremely young spirit and don't feel my chronological age....and i've learned that old people are usually young people wrapped in wrinkles.

Last night, Beck (from my stay in Kilarney) showed up at Kinlay House, so she stayed in the room with me and Melanie, from France. The 3 of us went over to Quay's Pub and heard some traditional Irish music, and "talked story" for a couple of hours. The music the night before was even better, by a band called "Irish Spirit", whose leader, Vinnie Mongan, gave me his CD for free. Cool, as i'd just been shopping for some cd's and hadn't found anything exactly to my liking. His young fiddle player, Fergal, also gave me his CD, also for free. Fergal is planning a "round the world" trip with his girlfriend soon and wants to come to Maui, so we exchanged email addresses and i'd love to show him the island and repay the courtesy's i've been shown here.

I'm leaving Galway today, hopping back on board with driver Des, and another group on Tir Na Noq tours....will go to a small village called Cong, hopfully first to see The Connemara, a wild area with mountains just north of Galway.
It'd be nice if the sun would come out.....i have 4 layers on now, even inside!
