		<description>We crossed at Aranya Prathet, or Poi Pet on the Cambodian side.

Today it's a very popular tourist route from Thailand into Cambodia to see Angkor Wat.  The border area is still wild and probably lawless to a point, but there aren't any refugee camps left.  Mostly just wide open fields.</description>

I remember years ago that most traveled routes were swamped with refugee camps, refugees fleeing war and seeking safety in Thailand.  It was a real mess!    The border areas were absolutely wild and lawless, with atrocities common on both sides.</description>
