June 21, 2005Out last destination--SAD
So Carol and I made it to our last destination, Dominical which is about 2 hours south of where we previously where by the public bus that is. This will be my last entry, except some pics which I will hopefully post later. We decided to "splurge" on our last destination and spend 50/night for a place with hot water and a swimming pool. Mind you this place still doesn't measure up to a Motel 6 in the U.S. but to us it is nice and having a pool is like heaven. You have no idea what cooling off in saltwater with huge waves and then laying in sand feels like every day. We did this "famous" horseback waterfall tour yesterday and even though I'm usually terrified of horses, I had a good time. We rode about 45 minutes into the woods to this person's house that was all set up for breakfast. I even got to feed a toucan, picture later. Then we continued to this awesome waterfall. Carol and I have seen quite a few waterfalls on this trip but this one was definetely the best. Again, pictures later...this stupid computer is too tight in its holder I can't attach my cord! Carol went and jumped off the falls by following our guide up rocks with the waterfall falling on them. I'm sorry, but I just value my life too much and I think I've done enough death defying things already on this trip. We returned to the house for lunch...yumm! Then off on our horses again and this time it took no time to get back. My horse wanted to full out run even though I just wanted a pleasant gallop. We spent the rest of the day sipping margaritas and Imperials (Costa Rica's beer) with a couple we met on the tour and another person we met on the bus the previous day. Today (Tuesday) we decided to play Dumb and Dumber and rent one moped and travel along the coast south to a national park. It was a ton of fun and a great way to get around this country. We saw some awesome beaches and rock formations we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our day was cut short however by a torentual downpour and thunderstorm :(. I hope you all have enjoyed my stories...I can tell you much more if you ask. Can't wait to see you all soon when I get home or when I move to Seattle! Posted by Lauren K on June 21, 2005 06:54 PM

"You have no idea what cooling off in saltwater with huge waves and then laying in sand feels like every day." I'll resist the obvious bitter retort =P =D. I don't know how you possibly did so many things in so short of time, but it sure looked like alot of deserved fun. Have a safe flight. Know that the hermit crab did manage to survive in your abscence, of course only barely). Matt P.S. IsoRay = hermit crab. Roger had another all hands meeting.
