June 14, 2005More Pictures
More pictures for your pleasure. The weather has taken a turn for the way better and now we have SUN almost all day. Awesome for doing things...bad for the frying factor. It doesnŽt matter how much sunscreen you put on...but hey IŽll be tan right.
Carol and I at Playa Carillo, which is just south of where we were staying in Samara. So after Playa Samara we took a 7 hour van ride to go about 100 miles...that is my guess anyways. The next beach we were going to was only about 30 miles as the crow flies but non exsistent roads and un paved other ones make it really hard to get to some places. Plus on our way, there was a river running through the road so we had to pretty much push the van up a dirt road to turn around and try another way. We ended up staying one night in this place called Mal Pais. We never actually found the town but we got some awesome pictures anyways. It was the most beautiful coastline IŽve ever seen. Here are a couple of some cool rock formations along the way. Just today (june 13) Carol and I went to Isla Tortuga (Island of Turtles) to snorkel and lay out and have a BBQ lunch. We saw spotted dolphins on our way out and saw some puffer fish, trumpet fish and a blow fish while snorkeling. Here we are enjoying our beach time drinking the beer of costa rica, Imperial (kind of tastes like Busch Light, only a little worse) Posted by Lauren K on June 14, 2005 06:07 PM
