Mt. St. Helens has nothing on Arenal

So, picture this. Sitting in a 110 degree hot spring pool, sipping a margarita and watching Volcan Arenal in the background. All of the sudden the volcano explodes and sends lava spitting in to the air and down the sides of the volcano. Well this is what Carol and I saw the other night from Baldi Hot Springs, and no I have no pictures to show of it :(.

Okay, I'm going to make this entry quick cause I got kicked off before and had a long entry that got deleted. Last I left you we were in La Fortuna near the volcano. Well we got an awesome tour of the volcano the other day and saw it explode right in front of our eyes. It was very surreal and a bit dangerous (many signs warned you of high volcanic activity and what do in case it erupted for real). The hike was awesome, our guide Miguel shared great stories about Arenal and La Fortuna. We even go to walk on some rocks that were deposited by the volcano in 1992.

That night we got to go to Tabacon Hot springs with carol's friends that were there on their honeymoon. Law school Pete met us there and we shared drinks and lounged in the many hot springs and waterfalls there.

The next day was filled with an unsuccessful hike (but cool pictures) to another volcano. Although we never got to our final destination it was still fun. We went to another hot springs that night where we finally saw the lava. Now we can leave La Fortuna feeling complete.

Today we traveled to Monteverde via a bus, then a boat, then another bus. It was a fun trip and saved about 5 hours over the public bus. Costa Rica is a very small country but non exsistent roads and really bad other ones make it really hard to get anywhere very fast. Okay, Carol wants to go look at snakes, so I better get going. I'll post pictures when I have more time. Talk to you all soon...thanks for all the comments, keep em coming.
