Okay, so this page may take a while to load...so that is why its seperate...just some highlights so far.

This is what EVERY house in Alajuela looks like. Everyone has locked gates that seem to be never opened...their cars even manage to fit in there. Our hostel is the same way, always locked...which is comforting.

This is me with a turtle that was hanging around in the place we stayed, Mango Verde Hostel, in Alajuela. I also saw a cockroach in the bathroom, but didn´t feel the need to pose with it.

Carol and I with Volcan Arenal in the background. This is the largest active volcano in Costa Rica and the only one with the cool cone shape. It supposedly explodes stuff every now and then and makes a big sound...can´t wait to hear it.

This is our friend Pete jumping off the rocks and Carol in the background. I swear there are pics of me doing it, just on Carol´s camera. The water was the perfect temperature and not dirty at all.

These are the leaf cutter ants I talked about in the last email. They can carry 20 times their body weight in leaves, flowers, whatever they need to lay their eggs in.

Here is Volcan Arenal out of the clouds as much as it usually gets. There barely any zoom here, so we were really close. Makes you feel adventurous knowing you´d be toast if it every erupted big again.
