May 30, 2005Louvre
Today I had class, and then I spent like 4 hours at the louvre. I mad a video tape of a lot of it, I taped the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Napolean's room, and the outside, including the lines to get in. I also showed in my tape the "secret" way to get in so you dont have to wait in line at all. The Louvre is amazing, but it is definetly a place you dont want to go more than once. It is so hot and stuffy, the french dont really believe in air conditioning. There is also like 50,000 people there and they are gawking at everything and stopping in the middle of the stairs, the walkways, everywhere. But everyone should go there once to see it. It is enormous. Someone told me yesterday it takes up like 3 paris blocks (which are bigger then our city blocks). It is so easy to get lost though, I dont think the maps help. I got lost two times, and the map was comepletely wrong. Also be careful when following the "sortie" exit signs because they may not point you to the nearest exit, it may be anoth 5 rooms away. After I left the Louvre I came back to my school to update this sight, and now I am going to go to dinner somewhere and do some homework for my class here. Im really excited, tomorrow night I am going to the Moulin Rouge with a bunch of people from my class...but more on that later. Comments
