May 27, 2005Chartres
Today we went to Chartes. Chartes is about an hour train ride outside of Paris. We had to wake up at 6:30 in the morning. Our teacher wanted us to meet at 7 to walk to the station as a group. I was soooo tired because I was out so late the night before. I only got about 2 hours of sleep. Our teacher was worried we would miss the train, but he was wrong. We ended up at the station an hour early, and there was absolutely nothing to do. It was pretty boring. Carl, Lindsey, and I got seats in an empty car, so we slept almost the whole way there. When we got there we saw Chartres Cathedral, lindsey and I took a ton of pictures. We got some funny pictures of us in confessionals. After the cathedral we went to lunch at le pitchet. They made the same thing for everyone in our class, fish, but I was lucky because they made sausage for me and a couple other people that didnt like fish. The meal was actually pretty good. We also got this apple ice cream dessert that was delicious. After lunch we went to a place that showed us how to make stained glass. It was really pretty. Then we went on a miniture train ride around the city. It was really hot out though and I was wearing pants. After we got back to Paris I ate at Indiana Cafe with a few people. The food was really good I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. After dinner I fell asleep and slept all night. Comments
