May 21, 20051st day in paris
We had orientation at 10 in the morning and then we had a tour of the Latin Quarter. I saw Notre Dame, the Pantheon, and an old gladiator ring. I also some shops that I want to stop in this weekend to do some shopping. Before orientation i went to the cementary in montparnasse and took some pictures. I saw numerous amazing sculptures. After the cementary we went to have breakfast at the hotel (they provide a free breakfast) i dont think it is very good though. all they have is yogurt, croissants, and cereal. I went to mcdonalds and got a bacon mcmuffin so i wouldnt starve. We also were given free frech pizza by the school after the orientation. It was really good. They have a ton of ham over here, and they put ham on everything. That is really one of the few toppings that you will find on french pizza. I love canadian bacon though so I dont mind. I went out to dinner with a bunch of people from my class. Paris is so expensive! My dinner was 25 euros. I had steak and fries. i ordered a limonade, which was supposed to be similar to sprite, but it wasnt. it was gross. it tasted like sparkling water with a strong lemon flavor. So i ordered a coke too. We had fun at dinner though so the money was no big deal. After dinner we decided to go out to this club called Barrio Latino. It was located in the Bastille. We went a bar across the street to have a drink before we went dancing. I had a Bicardi Caliente, which was bicardi pineapple juice and grenadine. It was pretty good. We then went to stand in line at Barrio Latino. When we finally got to the front we couldnt get in because three of us were wearing sandals, and they dont allow open toed shoes in the club. We gave up and went back to the hotel. Comments
