May 20, 2005The flight to paris
My flight left at 7:20pm on wed night 5/18. I arrived at the airport at 4pm, I wanted to get there early to try to upgrade to first class. But the professor had arrived before me and had already reserved our seats. Luckily i got a window seat. I hate sitting in the middle because then i would have no room. I went and ate at TGI Fridays before my flight left. Their chicken ceaser salad is so good. TGI fridays was on the opposite side of the airport though so that sucked. Especially because my backpack was so damn heavy. I tried to sleep on the flight to Iceland but I only got like 2 hours of sleep. The food they served on the flight was actually pretty good. I had seasoned chicken with baby potatoes and a piece of chocolate cake. When we landed in Iceland it looked like a very small town. I couldnt see anything around the airport and all it looked like from the plane was dirt for miles. there was no green. the flight from iceland was only 2 hours and it went by pretty fast. My ears were going crazy though. usually when i fly i dont have a problem with my ears popping. but this time it hurt really bad and they wouldnt stop popping. We arrived in paris at about 1:30pm on thursday may 19th. one of the girls that are studying abroad here got her bag sent to netherlands so we had to wait in airport for her to figure that out. the bus ride into the city was about an hour. i had no idea that the airport was so far from paris. Our hotel is in Montparnasse, which is an area in paris. we have tons of cafes near our hotel. My room is really nice. I was suprised. I have one room mate, her name is lindsay. She is pretty cool. She speaks fluent french and has been to paris before, so she has been helping me with translating what people say. The school, IES, took all of us out to dinner at a restaurant next door to the hotel. I had goat cheese bread, chicken, fries, and apple tart. It was pretty good. I read a little after dinner and went to bed, i was pretty jet lagged. Comments
Hi Kristen. Your Dad mentioned that your website was on your voicemail, so I decided to check it out. This is so cool that you are posting your "adventures". Sounds like you are having a great time. Wish I was there with you! Posted by: Cindy Steele on June 3, 2005 07:41 AMPost a comment
