March 24, 2005No Photos Please
I find that I rarely carry my camera. SE Asia is more a place to experience a way of life then to caputre beautiful things on film. I know that people take pictures of daily life all of the time, but if I do not want to hang it on my wall, then I generally don't take the picture. I'm being kind of stingy with the picture taking because I am taking slides and just don't feel like carrying my carmera. This is in part because I need a better strap for it. Mine is too short and is the rough cord material that rubs your neck. Anyway, here are the few scenes I wish I had captured on film: -A row of cyclo drivers sleeping in their cyclos (a cyclo is a bike with a seat in front of it.) -The lantern festival in Hoi An -Shop after shop of tailors in Hoi An -Girls going to school in traditional dress -Women in conical hats carrying things on their shoulders with the long plank weighted by goods of equal weight hanging from each end.
