I just learned that Flemish is actually a dialect of Dutch. I had thought it was a whole different language.

I am kind of embarrassed that I did not know this after leaving in France for a year. You'd think that someone who lived in such close proximity and had actually visited Belgium would know what language they speak.

Anyway, I thought I would save you the same embarrassement but informing you of this fact.
