February 16, 2005SF Taxi Solution
It is impossible to find a taxi in San Francisco. NOt only are there not enough of them, but they leave their lights on when they are occupied. You get your hopes and foolishly try to flag one down only to discover that it has a passenger. In Thailand, there were collective taxis. The first person to get in tells the driver where they are going and he starts off in that general direction. If someone else flags him down he finds out where they are going and if it is in the approximate vacinity of the current passenger, he picks them up. I think this would be great for San Francisco. Maybe I should start a business. Comments
