January 29, 2005Weather
I had expected to be enveloped in a blanket of heat when we arrived in Bangkok but it was actually OK. It rained our first day there- first time in three months. It settled the pollution which was nice. In Authaya (sp) it was sweltering hot and very dusty which lead to the dirtiest feet I have ever had. I feared that this was how my whole trip would be. Then I arrived in Chiang Mai. What glorious weather! I hope everywhere is like this. A cool beverage is required in the middle of the day because it does get hot. Tina and I were enjoying our fruit shakes in the shade when a little girl past wearing winter PJs- the kind with the footsies, flap in back and little hat that makes you look like an animal. She looked perfectly happy and comfortable. A group of teenage girls stopped us and asked if we spoke French because they needed to interview someone for a class assignment. I volunteered Tina. They were very giggly. I knew they were good people because the ring leader was wearing a Lucy sweatshirt. Sweatshirts on three other girls as well. Someone needs to tell the people of Thailand that it is hot hear. Comments
