January 23, 2005The Service Industry
I find myself wondering if people in less wealthy countries resent having to serve those from more affluent nations. It doesn't appear that this is the case here. The Thais give laid back service with a smile. However, many of them work 12 hour days 7 days a week. I've noticed that many also live in their work place whether it be a store, restuarant or boat. It has to be hard to work such long hours to serve people who have so much leisure time and are spending a great deal of money on relaxing and having fun. Comments
