July 12, 2005More Tikal
over 90,000 mayans lived at Tikal from 200 bc to 900 ad. They left after a 5 year drought. The mayan cultrue is amazing as its basis is focused around balance in life. Every ruin had a double to suggest this balance. Oh yea, I forgot to mention, at the end of the months in Mayan time, it was time for scarifice, so they scarficed people in the city that were corrupt or prisoners of war.
