This is my teacher for my third week of learning Spanish. She is Anonita from Xela. Her husband is in the United States illegally working and sending money home. It took her husband 15 days to go from Guatemala to the United States. Anonita knows a lot about the civil war that happened here, and I have heard some intense and horrific stories about what went on Guatmala less than 10 years ago. Also, I have learned a tremendous amount about the U.S. involvment in the civil war.
