Volcan Santa Marie

DSC00577.JPG

Beth and I treked up Volcan Santa Maria last Saturday. We left at 4:30am, and started climibing at 5:00am. We did not get to the top until 9:45am. It was an intense hike that was crazy steep. This hike is the most difficult in Guatemala. Beth is used to hike like this, but I has never treked any camino like this, ever. Once we were at the top of the volcano, we were 12,000 feet high. From the top, we saw Volcano Santigo erupt right in front of us, it was like 10 miles away. The volcanic ash was above the sky line. It was the most amazing experience of my life.
