This is a chicken bus, it is just an old school bus from the states or candian. Let's say there are 10 seats in a bus, and in America, we would put two to a seat comfortably...so 20. Here if there are ten seats *more like 30* the driver loads about 45 people on the bus, three to a seat and some on the floor. And yes, they are called chicken bus because there are chickens on the bus, and only if you are lucky there will be pigs.
The bus from Guatemala City to San Pedro, Guatamala was 2 dollars.....for a 3 hour ride....not bad.

The lake is a pretty amazing place, lots of great things to do besides learning spanish. It is very cheap to live here. I can eat three meals a day for less than 10 bucks. Beth and I stayed in a hotel here for only Q350, which is roughly 40 bucks for 7 days, so 20 bucks each.
The food here is really wonderful. Today, we ate at this place called ZOOLA. We wondered why the special cookie was more than a piece of apple pie. What could be in the cookie, well if you have been following the log entries you would know that these are pot cookies....for 2 dollars. The drugs here are all over the place, not my thing, but I thought it would be interesting for you all.

Beth and I are at a beautiful lake in San Pedro, Guatamala. Are days are generally sleeping, kayaking, reading, learning spanish, and just chillen and meeting some new people from all over the world. Here is a picture of a lady that is washing her clothes in the lake. When Beth and I went kayaking *in a kayak that was older than the 70s* we saw numerous indigenous people bathing and washing their clothes in the lake.

All is well here in San Pedro, Guatemala. Beth and I are at an advanced level of spanish, at least that is what we would be in the states. Although we are back in school and doing some productive things, I wish I was back in Belize!!!
There are mad hippies here as the pot grows freely in the mountains.
