Freak Show In San Jose

Our last night in San José was a night to remember, no actually that sounds too positive. It was a night that I will soon never forget.................

Matt and I drove up to San Jose a day earlier so we could catch our early flight back to Miami. We needed place to say, so I called my friend Cady who lives in San Jose. She invited us to say at her parent’s house, and she would take us to the airport the next morning. Cady is a real sweat heart, she met us at local hotel and took us to her parent’s house where we would be staying that night. Our accommodations were fantastic, the house we were staying in was an old remodelled “butterfly” museum. After entering the estate, her parents greeted us with open arms. They were truly “good” Christian people from Florida. Soon after the small talk had ended, my stomach began to rumble. So we went out for some Mexican food. Up until this point everything was cool. It was when we got home, and I jumped into bed that the “freak show” began.
I was lying in bed, reading my book with the door closed, when suddenly I heard foot steps outside my door. I figured this to be nothing, since the kitchen was situated just outside my door. I figured that maybe someone was getting up for a late night snack, when suddenly my closed door opened…… then without warning, the adjoining bathroom door opened up. At that moment I felt a weird feeling in my soul. I looked around and began to contemplate all possible explanations for this phenomenon. Convincing myself that it must have been a very strong wind from an exterior window, I got up and closed both doors and began to read my book again.
Not more than 2 minutes later the foot steps returned and my door flew open. Mind you that I had closed this door tight twice!!! So after repeating my same routine, I got back into bed and closed my eyes.
That night, I began to dream. Visions of murder/death and a large book shuffled through my mind. The exact thoughts and details are difficult to put down on paper. Never the less, something weird happened at that home sometime in the past, my spirit was alert to this.
The next morning I woke up at 5:30 to take a shower and prepare for our departure. As I arose, I noticed that my door was once again ajar.
At breakfast, the obvious question was asked “well, how did ya’all sleep?” I immediately began to voice that something freaky was going on in their house. Her mother stopped for a moment, and began to tell us that there had been previous problems in that house. She explained to us that she too had experienced doors that opened and lights that turned on/off. She also told of a time that she heard footsteps come into her room and walk all around her bed, but saw no one. Cady’s mom later told us that she had the church come over and pray over the house. My parents would have done the exact same thing! So, my next question was, “why?” What happened in this house so many years ago? The mother began to tell us that the curator of the museum had killed himself in that very house while it was an old museum.
To be honest, if my dream was right, a lot more happened than just one suicide. It was a really “freaky” experience. One day, when I go back to San Jose, I want to stay in that same room. I would love to know what exactly happened in that house! Plus, Cady and her parents are really really fantastic people not to mention that their house is gorgeous. Regardless I want to see them again.
That’s how my last night in Costa Rica was. If that was any example of how the next 5 months of my journeys will be, then I am in for a real treat!

I was at that house that night and the only thing that I heard was my head hitting the pillow...Cady and her Parents were awsome people and I had the best sleep of the whole trip...I guess that when I chose the last room in the back, it was the right one. What I really think what happened is that Kevin ate some Spicy Mexican Food and was up all night imagining things...Gassin it Up!!!! Thats what opened the door.
