February 02, 2005Bio
In all, I've learned that any CD gets old if you listen to it long enough. I've learned that taking a leap of faith can ground you more than sticking to the straight and narrow path. I've learned that the back roads are the best way to see any place (unless you're lacking the AAA card to come to your rescue). I've learned that where we are is only as good as the friends we make, meet or take with us. But mostly I've learned that going places doesn't make me realize any one thing, but reminds me of everything important, awesome and downright fabulous about life. On the verge is one great reminder...the adventure of a lifetime in New Zealand. After a short stint in Fiji (where I look forward to having nothing to do but dig my toes in the sand, sip Mai Tais and think random thoughts) I'm off to Kiwi Kountry. I plan to meander throughout the country like a river, never thinking about what's up or down stream...but simply living in today's current (no pun intended...ha). And making waves wherever I go. Katie-first of all, that bio was great. damn can you write girl. anywho, i wish you the best of luck in new zealand. it is going to be like no other experience youve had so embrace that-do everything. (haha thats coming from a girl who shotguns 10 beers in one night and catches a mouse in her bare hands the next). anywho, i am having the best time here in good old trinidad. i can handle this island life...my walk is a little slower, i could give two shits about obligations...oh wait, i dont have any, and my punctuality is pretty much extinguished. its great. i am stoked for you...keep me updated with stories and pics. did you get my pics by the way?! ok gonna go but i love you and cant wait to drink our jack and cokes when we get back and reminisce (sp?) like we do so well. love always, sarah Posted by: Sarah Herman on February 5, 2005 02:25 AMKatie! I miss you already in the J-School. It just isn't the same without you. I got my assignment for 345.. and im research... which is fine.. but will be some early stress. (at least it will be out of the way right?) but my group seems really great, so that is a definate plus. Sounds like you are already having an incredible experience! im so jealous! just the independence, and the carefree lifestyle is DEFINATELY what I could use right about now! So enjoy it for me! I really love the blog/online journal idea. i'm sure I will do that too if I ever end up getting into my program! Whats crazy is, when I find out if I do, I'll have about 3 months to plan it and go! We'll have to get together sometime in the few months you're back before I leave so you can give me tips! are u visiting sydney at all? Anyways.. you'd be proud.. so far.. I haven't freaked out about school (although I've only had reading assignments.. but I haven't been doing the 345!) I should prob get going now since i'm at work.. but I look forward to reading more about your travels! Posted by: Traci on February 8, 2005 07:17 AM |
