Oh! I forgot to mention the funniest part of my trip through Tibet…. Of course…. It was food time!!!!
Most of people (I suppose I can say everybody) in Tibet don’t speak any word in English … so I had so many funny experiences at food time, I never knew what I was going to eat, even after ordering the food!
Most of restaurants didn’t have a menu in English and as I don’t speak Tibetan I had to close my eyes I chose by luck what I was going to eat! I got so many unexpected things… but it was always a new experience…. I quite liked it.
But the funniest things were the restaurants which had a menu in English. Because they had the menu in English but they didn’t have the translation to Tibetan in the same menu so I always knew what I ordered but as the waiters couldn’t understand any English (even not the Menu), they never got my ( or anyone else) order correctly. I had hilarious experiences …. Once I ordered fried rice with yak meat and I got noodle vegetable soup… another time I ordered egg vegetable fried noodle and I got pork dumplings …. Hahahah! It was always surprise! I was such a laugh!
