Budapest
After getting a train which was 1 hour and a half late I arrived in Budapest.
Thus I am visiting my second communist country, Hungary. I am sorry for
my mum,she has knee problems, and it is very painful.Poor girl !
I am glad my friend Franciska came to pick us up in the station....as I am
quite exhausted ( it may be from the anger for paying normal price when I
could have payed half). It is even better that Franciska speaks Portuguese
fluently- what is going to be very nice to my mum is that she had only me to talk to all the way.... YUP, I will have some holiday of having to translate
everything to my mum... finally ( mum I am joking ahahah!!!)
Wow!!! I am in paradise.... everybody speaks english here !!!!
The communism in Hungary left different scars from the ones left in Check
Republic. Budapest is a very beautiful city but unfortunately many
beautiful buildings were distroyed or abandoned in the communist time.
Buildings that should be considered art monuments have been abandoned and
nowadays they are full of dirt and garbage. But even like that Budapest is
a very beautiful city !
The thing surprised me most about Budapest is its people. Hungarian people
are very friendly and welcome. They are aways smiling, alive. Budapest is
quite a young city considering its population. You see so many young people on
the streets...surprsingly most of them speak very good English.
But one of the best things of Budapest was my friend Franciska that rescued
us from the overcrowded *I am not sure I can take shower here URGH* hostels ....oh!!!
I can imagine how my mum felt happy for having the opportunity of
sleeping in a nice bed...taking shower in a very clean shower !!!! even
me... I loved that !!!!
But it is time to go again....night bus to Sofia... 15 hours travelling
