Netherlands
I had to wake up at 4:30am to get the flight to Holland ! Too early for me !!!I even thought it was better to go back to bed instead of getting inside of the plane!!!! Oh God! I think if my mum wasn't here with me I would lose the flight!!! At least yesterday I bought a big packet of crackers so I can eat during all the flight ! As you can imagine, I bought an easyjet flight ( it was the early morning price of 16 pounds that made me make this crazy choice of a middle of the night flight.... and they even don't serve food!)
It so nice to be in Holland again! I lived here for a couple of years! I cannot say I had such a great time here as I had in Uk....It was the first time I lived abroad. I expected Holland to be like London....! But it is much more difficult to make friends in Holland than in London. I suppose it is because there are so many foreigners in London, people who come to London by themselves, looking forward to having a great time and meet as much people as possible! Although I didn't have as much fun in Holland...I still think Netherlands is one of the greatest countries in the world. It is so clean, so organised. The trains are never late...in Uk you need to be VERY lucky to get a train on time ! But the best thing in Netherlands is that you can go everywhere by bike! When I lived there I used to travel around the countryside by bike on the weekends!
I spent a day in Amsterdam... the sun was shinning, very nice weather! I love Amsterdam! hahahh!!! People with colourful clothes, bikes everywhere.... ( did you know that Amsterdam has twice as bikes as inhabitant?!) My mum didn't like Amsterdam so much, she was a bit scared ... too many bikes, she couldn't cross a road without hearing a bike driver shouting because she was on the way! ahahahah! It was fun!
Second day we decided to get out of Amsterdam, we spent the day in a very traditional dutch village ( I don't remember the name), it was very beautiful and peaceful place, it was like villages from a century ago. I wish I could remember the name to tell you... but I think I am spending all my memory packing and unpacking bags... as I need to count all my possessions every single day!It is already getting boring!
The second night we went to Utrecht ( city I lived!) It is the city where I learned to identify dutch people...if you see someone with a yellow smile in the face - 24 hours a day - very tall - wearing non colourful clothes - I bet it is a dutch person! Oh ! But there are many good things about them... they are usually very inteligent, speak many languages, open mind.... as you see nothing in life is perfect.
Dutch guys....I always thought the dutch guys were very charming. But when I lived there they used to have their hair cut very very short ( hurgh!!! I don't think very attractive), was hard to have a boyfriend as they were too mumsperfectboys type and not karinathinksyouaregorgeous type. But when I arrived there this time I had a big surprise....there were so many karinathinksyouareovergorgeousohmygod type! So many blond long curly hair everywhere!( they are my prefered type....it is in the way I imagine all the aussies surfers!) But it is too late now... I am already 30!!! And I already have the most beautiful and nice boyfriend ( well.... I know...he is an exception as beautiful and nice are words we never put together when we are talking about men!!!)
I always thought Netherlands is a nice country to get old.... very 1st world!
