Livin in the Land Downunduh

so i am here. let the games begin. koalas, kangaroos, WOMBATS, crockies, and better yet, the BEST thing, russell coight. seirously for those of you who are WHAS fans...read up..

there is this show, "All Aussie adventures" which is like wet hot american summer meets steve irwin, but a cool steve irwin (sorry frankie). this character, russell coight, is my new hero because he is so rediculous.

So far, Austraila has been a place for me to rest my eyes, my soul, and catch up and charge all life batteries. I flew into Sydney and was instantly greeted by family who housed and took care of me like their own. Sydney was a lot of fun, as I also got to meet the remaining cousins on my mothers side that I have never met. Amazingly enough, they are so similar in looks and personality to the remainder of the family that it just instantly felt right. I visited Bondi Beach, and a couple other local suburbs. I even went to the place where my mom lived for a while..talk about strange events.

I headed down to Nowra, where another Uncle lived and spent some good time there catching up on lost times, and just hanging out. Nowra is a really cool little place that is relatively close to the coast. Here is where I saw my first real endemic australian animals...how great is that. I think the wombat is my favorite as it's the cutest rounded thing i've ever seen. Koala's kinda of look like retarded children but are still cute as anything...

After a couple days in Nowra, it was time to set sailing again..and I boarded a 9 hour night train that would take me to Melbourne. Already the adventures had begun. I put on my MP3 player and listened to a ton of Explosions in the Sky as the starry australian outback whizzed past me. A lot of thoguhts went into my head in that moment, but more than anything, i suddenly realized once again what I was doing. I have to say, it does come and go a lot. One minute I'm watching a movie with what seems like good old friends, when i kind of snap out of it and realize im sitting in a hostel living room with people i have just met. This travelling business never gets old, that is for sure.

I kept moving around on the train, to find an extra seat or two that were available to stretch out on, and kept having to move. Finally I found one behind the world's smelliest man. Okay he wasn't smelly as in just a dirty person, but he smelled like a man who had done 3654354 hours worth of hard work, but decided the extra 20 minutes worth of work to take the shower would have just thrown him over the top.... it was way to reminiscint of the smelly bastard who sat in front of me on a chinatown bus on my way from washington DC to New York. I have expected to turn my head over and see Jen and Derrick smiling as I gagged over this greasy guys mullety 8 foot ponytail. Oh the days of Spring Break.

Anyhow, I got into Melbourne at 7:35 in the morning and was trying to lug all my junk to the hostel when I realized I just passed an all night rave that was just letting out. I thought I was going to get my stuff stolen by these drug infested 18 year olds who looked like they needed more of a fix than... (i don't know..but insert some rude smart ass comment here)....
okay ill be back in some time...see ya doods.
