About the Author
Joey was born in Westbury, NY a medium sized town in the county of Nassau on Long Island. Ever since he was young he has had a fascination with maps and other geographical studies. By the age of 8, Joey was able to name the capitals of every state in the U.S. due to the strenuous exercises and memory training. When Joey’s mother and father purchased their first computer in the late 80’s his true travel bug began to spring. Joey spent hours on the computer playing every edition of the Carmen Sandiego series giving him the geographical knowledge he holds today.
This isn’t the first misadventure that Joey has embarked on. At the age of 8 his parents took him and his brother on a trip to St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and in 1996 a tour of Italy and Greece with his mother. In 2004 Joey went to London and Prague for his first solo trip and followed it up the next year with 2 weeks solo in Morocco.
This will be his first long term, solo, extended, vagabonding experience. Follow him…
