Yesterday I decided to take the coastal walk to the light house and the most easterly point of Australia.

The day after I arrived I decided to take a surfing lesson!

I arrived in Byron at 12 midday today! The weather is scorching. Here I am staying at the Byron Bay Bunkhouse Hostel. It seams very friendly and very close to all amenities.

Coffs Harbour was the first stop after I left Sydney. I was on a 9 hour coach ride. It wasn't too bad considering!!

I decided to take a bus ride up to the beach where they film Home and Away. When I got there they were filming. I had my photo taken with Alf Stuart and Scott. That was quite amusing.

Wow these people know how to drink!

After an 8 hour flight from Penang I finally reach Australia. The temperature is a lot different to that of Penang. I reach here and it is raining, I may aswell be at home. Not really! ;-)

The flight to Penang was very good. I had 4 spare seat next to me so I could lay down if i wished - which I did, and I got 3-4 hours sleep!!

I'm 27 and have lived all my life in Orpington Kent, South East England. I have resigned from my job which I was in for 9 years to go on an adventure around Australia!! Since the age of 21, Australia is one of the places I said I would visit before I'd die. It's taken me a while to save the pennies, but now I've done it - and now it's finally here....

I leave the UK on 8th March 2005 to fly to Penang, where I'll be staying for 6 nights (to recover from jetlag and relax). From there, I'll be flying into Sydney, arriving morning of the 16th March. I was a bit nervous about travelling alone but thanks to the wonder of the internet, I've arranged to meet loads of fellow travellers along the way.

I'm sure my plans will change along the way but I'll keep you all posted.
