June 22, 2005Day 1 - Intro to Sydney
Check out our pictures!
We have a great balance among the three of us. Caroline offers her wit that surprises even herself. Karl offers his awesome contraptions, such as the mp3 photo storage device. Says Caroline upon the trial run: "Woah, woah, woah. You have to explain this to me. You just plugged something into an Altoids box!" And I, yes, I offer my endlessly blank looks, trying to keep up with the two of them. I think we get along nicely! On a different note, coming from the airport to Caroline's friends place in North Sydney, we dished out $90 to the taxi driver! And I followed him the whole way on the map; he was not pulling any shananigans... it was really that far. We start on our adventures tomorrow. We've got a road atlas, cameras, guidebooks, and backpacks at the ready. Soon we'll even have a car, and will immediately test out our reverse-driving skills... Right hand turns from the left lane are just SO confusing!! And we were just passengers today! Karl says, "We're gonna die tomorrow." Quite the statement. Hopefully it's not true! Enjoy the uploaded picture, all for your entertainment. And check out the Kodak Gallery! Posted by Janice K on June 22, 2005 06:40 PM

Sounds like you hit the ground running. Careful with the driving routine. Heard from one of Rod's Sydney friends today. When you get settled at school we will give you all the details. Happy travels! Posted by: Karla M. on June 23, 2005 11:22 AMYay! The adventure begins. I've been checking as often as possible and, finally, you made it! It might help to remind whoever is driving to keep themselves towards the middle of the road. As long as the driver is closer to the middle than the passenger, you'll be ok. --Doug B.
