I am just a girl with an ache in her heart to see the millions of corners in the world. Every time I see a photo of an amazing place, I wonder what it would be like to behold it with my own eyes. Every time I see a person's portrait, I imagine where and how they live. Every time I see an opportunity open up to get to a place I've not been before, I seize it. The wanderlust began when I was conceived. It's something bred into me that will never go away. It was nurtured by my parents as I travelled to about 50% of the United States, feeding wild chipmunks in Colorado, snapping pictures of red mushrooms in the Rockies and sunsets over Adirondack lakes, jumping off cornices at Copper Mountain ski resort, sailing in the Chesapeake Bay, exploring the adobe homes in New Mexico, pulling leeches off my feet in the Allagash River of Maine, and wandering among the ghost crabs of the Outer Banks - to name a few adventures. The ache will continue as long as there are places to see and I have creative ways to get there. This time, I'm headed to the land Down Under for a semester to explore what I can of the amazing continent. I will go from there to work as a shepherd or vineyard help in New Zealand for a month before returning home to the States to finish up and graduate from the University of Virginia. Comments
