Ruta 40 – Cueva de las Manos & Charcamata

Despite the travel agent not know what tours they offer (quite an interesting concept) and after 2 hours of sitting in the office, we managed to book a four day trip along the Ruta 40 from El Chalten to Bariloche.

Five days out in the moutains, but a very lazy five days!

We set out from El Chalten “the capital of trekking in Argentina” in slight drizzle towards Cerro Torre – it was the type of rain that makes you wetter than you realize and we rolled into Campamento de Agostini rather wet round the edges.  We set up camp and huddled in the tent, hoping the weather would clear.
