November 25, 2004Zurich
15th Oct - 17th Oct Zurich was pretty boring actually! After seeing all the main sights, there's nothing to do! its just another city like Sydney and you can shop, but i have no money! couldnt shop! and the francs arent that good... internet yet again was €10 an hr!? whats with that? do they not have technology here? is there an old 75 yr old man sitting behind the computer peddling and sweating to get the connection happening?? man...these people arnt normal...! Ok, so a bit of Zurich was interesting (i have to stop being so negative, i think the boys got to me, they hated it!) one side is a full on city and when you walk 20mins you go straight to the water and see the amazing alps in the distance covered in snow. We walked around a 2nd hand market for a while and up towards the Haupbahnhof and the main shopping streets and then just enjoyed the quiet of the Churches (i left the boys again) to tell the truth, there isnt as much history here as there is in other parts of Europe, Switzerland is more a place to go if u want to ski and like the cold. I decided to keep Swiz off my list for next time...its nice, but not for me... We had reserved seats on a night train for 11pm but decided to move the time forward to 3:30pm because to make matters worse, all the shops were closed on the day we were leaving so we had absolutley nothing to do! ahhh...meee... well, its ok, more time in Paris!
