27th Sept - Stopover
Well well, looks like we had to add in a stopover in Berlin for 1 night, we couldnt get a train in to Prague on the same night as we hoped we would. We would have had to have our eurail tickets stamped 2 times instead of one and would have lost a day of travel, AND we would have had to waited at a secluded train station from 11pm till 4am in the morning, I wasnt willing to do that if you would make me the princess of Prague. Left Amsterdam at 11,13am and got to Berlin about 4,30pm, first class seating is pretty good, im glad we paid the extra $150 for it, well worth it. These Germans, no offense, are pretty mongulated. I asked the guy who looked like he was a fat, bearded, arrogant train coordinator or whatever it is these europeans call themselves - how long it would take to get to Berlin, he first ignores me then starts blabbering on in German, "shagsdeámorgansooshěn morgaN jdháš sheshbesh šžčžšáě raghhhfen hoogfennn KHHaghfen" and the guy next to him kindly translated his animal grants to me, ended up being 5hrs but anyway, got in the train and the next thing we hear our door being open and a rough sounding voice saying "tickets please" and guess who walks in...my oblong german mammal friend...yep, he was so fluent in english it was nearly dribbling from the mouth and other orifices in his body...he then realised it was us and u could tell he was a vorizag because he was looking for something to bust us with...looks at Daniels ticket - we gave him the prague pass instead of the eurail pass - and looks at him and says in his mammal fluent perect english voice "well sir, looks like we have a problem here" had this cocky smile on his face..and we whipped out the other ticket and said no, ure looking at the wrong one, boy was he sheeeeeepish after that, the moron backed out and went on his merry way...if i see any germans in australia from now on, im going to be doing the same thing to them and give wrong directions while im at it too...boofhead, people like that can really ruin your trip...but u have to remain positive i guess Got to Berlin and followed the signs for A and O Hostels, ended up paying €14,40 for a night in an 8 bed dorm, it wasnt too bad, except the mattress and pillow looked like a donkey had been living there for the past 4 years 9 months, filthy i tell u...bought some bed sheets for a ripoff €3 - took the pillow case with me - and made do with that, we slept as is in the same clothes we were in that day Walked around for a while, saw the remains of a really old church that was bombed in WW2 we saw the museum about Berlin being bombed and went out and had a feed. Food is much cheaper in Berlin...had a meal of, yep, u guessed it, KFC, how lame, and we also tried their cocktails, pretty good... After walking down the streets passing by the people "akghhhing and makgghhhing" passed us, we headed back to the hostel for a bit of a snooze, we had to get up at 6am to make out train to Prague the next day.
