November 14, 2004Long time no update!
hello everyone, including grandma, grandpa, extended family!! apparently my whole family reads this and my aunty marnie prints it out for my grandparents!! so I have to be careful what I write. let me try to be somewhat eloquent in my writings...hehe. anyway, so how's the weather in edmonton? it is a nice sun shiny day here in sydney but I am feeling a bit under the weather. I caught a cold linda got last week and lost my voice this weekend! started training for another market research job on friday. it was a long day that lasted from 11am until 9pm!! I ended up migrating towards a group of young english gals. I swear everyone that was at the training was younger than me and from europe! they all had english, scottish or irish accents! and all looked like they just stepped out of high school. anyway, it was okay. saturday I just took it easy and tried to rest while linda went galavanting to the beach with the guy we met in san fran that is from here. she had a good time and we met up for dinner later for some $6 steak! you just had to buy the drink but anyway ross paid so it was all good. I went home to sleep and they went for a romantic walk around the harbor. ;) sunday I worked from 10 until 6pm. it was a tough day especially since I had lost my voice and it was nowhere to be found! people could barely understand me but that is if they even gave me the chance to talk. alot of rude aussies out there! they always think we're trying to sell something. anyway eventually the shift was over. this new job is okay because it is a bit closer to home. it's only about a 45 minute walk and the shifts are only during the evenings monday to friday. the weekend shifts are 10-6 though and that can get tiresome. but after 40 hours you get a pay hike to $18/hour which isn't too bad at all! I could live with this job for a while until I find that perfect job...which I am constantly looking for!! anyway, I also went for an interview with a design temp agency today. the lady was really nice and is going to try to find me a job. she is recommending me to another agency to work at town hall which is the equivalent to sydney's city hall. it'll be just like home!!! ANYWHO, gotta call work to see what shifts I picked up this week and then go for a smoothie with linda. love and miss you all! Comments
YEAAAAAHH, I'M NUMBER 1 AGAIN!!!! Hey sup Jazz...I see that all that potato chips have taken your voice away. If I didn't tell you so before, I'll tell you now....told ya so, hahaha, just kidding. Well hows work going? All is ok here in etown I guess...for me that is. Weather is actually really nice for mid-november. I said that it was +13 degrees outside yesterday, but since I'm a hermit, I didn't go out at all. Well I'm looking to head back up home in a week or so, so I guess I'll be just as busy as you : ) Hopefully I'll have time for the fun stuff, like surf the net and play games. Oh yes, I changed the headlights on my car cuz one of them was burnt out. And it was a pain the butt hole, I'll say that. The car manual made it sound so easy....just push the tab to release the bulb, and slide the socket down. sounds pretty easy eh...NOT!!! The forgot to tell u that the socket is stuck around the bulb so hard that u need brute strength and a mini flat head screwdriver to pry it out. So it took me 1 1/2 hrs of fooling around with the thing, and 30mins to actually pry out the 2 bulbs and change it...wut a pain I tell u. but now i have bright head lights, and the satisfaction feeling of changing my oh lights was cool. They charge $15 at canadian tire to change the bulbs...and I can see why. Well thats all for me, I'm still a hermit at home....theres no milk and other stuff in the fridge so its an excuse to go out....laundry has to be done, but since I still have some white tights, I've decided to procrastinate on that...hahahaa. Laters Jazz....keep up the fun. And where are those pictures!!! Miss ya, T-Chow PS - did u notice I was the first person to place a comment on this update...hehheehee.....I so have no life. Laters. Posted by: The Chowster on November 16, 2004 11:48 AMG'day Jazz, Sounds like you're mixing some fun with working hard. That's a good thing....as Martha would say from her jail cell...lol! Take care of that cold, drinks lots of liquids and get well quick. Remember to steer clear of men from down under who chunder. Ozzie, ozzie, ozzie, oy, oy, oy! TTYL.
