g'day peeps...
well i managed to survive 4 gruling days of market research. it wasn't actually that bad until i started to get migranes (sp??) because of the combination of the pressure of the headset and my glasses which i swear are the wrong prescription!! hehe just jokes they're fine. anyway so i worked 2-830 on friday, ran home in my $12 pointy toed shoes i bought from kmart, changed and went out again with linda and our landlord's nephew who is visiting from croatia (who is quite the hottie!! just imagine those russian gymnasts in the olympics...hahaha) ANYWAY, so we bumped into our 2 other roomates on the walk there and they said that the clubs absolutely do not let people in that are wearing trainers or flip flops. trainers are runners btw. so we went back and i once again put the pointy kmart shoes on. frank (hottie nephew of older frank who we pay rent to) had to put on his dancing shoes...and they literally are his dancing shoes as he takes salsa and rhumba classes at night! haha. a 30 minute walk later, we went to a pub called the 3 wise monkeys. it was ridiculous because there were a line to get in and then another line to go up to the 3rd floor where there was live music and a dance floor. we bumped into our friends we met at the 2nd hostel we stayed at...the italian guy simone (pronounce simone-eh) and david who is from england. we went to a bar called the sidebar and they were playing michael jackson's billie jean as we walked in!! my kind of club or what! anyway it was fun. we just danced. then linda got that bored look on her face so we left around 1:30. i had to work the next morning anyway so that was a good excuse to leave. the walk home was UNBEARABLE. those stupid pointy toed kmart shoes were killing my feet. franks dancing shoes weren't exactly comfy either so he took them off, put his insoles from his shoes IN his socks and walked home without the shoes on!! haha it was hilarious.

next day of work was okay since it was only 10-4. market research is pretty easy as you just read off your computer screen and as they answer questions, you choose their answer and the next screen comes up and so on...and so on...I was determined to get as many surveys as i could in one day as it made the time go by faster. saturday night we didn't end up doing anything. too tired to go anywhere so I just made some chicken instant noodles and called it a night. sunday we did a little shopping before i had to head off to work at 2. there is a department store called meyer here and it reminds me of the bay in downtown vancouver. it's about 5 floors of clothes and shoes and household items! the 'miss' section is my type of clothing...i will definitely have to go back with credit card in hand because i have run out of clothing to wear!!! i need some new jeans. anyway so work was from 2 until 8. we did a few different projects and then got home by 9:30 or so.

monday was fine. alot of people were not home so we got alot of answering machines. time went slowly. i bought the best sandwich ever at the mall and I left it in the fridge at work!!!! oh yeah and they had to let me go. there were about 7 of us from the same agency and they let me and this other girl emma from england go! I don't understand why but whatever, I'm not going to cry over losing a few more days of that work! anyway so someone will probably eat the remaining half of my yummy ham and cheese croissant sandwich.

today is another day and the $1/hour internet place has increased it's prices to $1/every 45 minutes! geez! they hook ya in and then they jack up the prices. my day seems a bit boring today. linda got a 1 day assignment photocopying and binding things together. doesn't sound like much of a change from what she was doing at city hall but hey it's work and that's what she wants to do. I think I will go take a gander at the meyer department store again...and perhaps meet up with simone for lunch.
