I really need to invest in a laptop...

g'day everyone! yes I'm at the internet cafe once again! I keep making up reasons to walk 30 minutes to this cheap $1/hour place! I had to forward my resume to another temp agency and then of course you can only pay by the hour...and then suddenly before you know it the hour is up and then you have to stay another hour cuz they make you! oh well whatever. anyway so tomorrow I have my first temp job at a call centre. it's a different position than the one I talked about before that paid $18/hour. this one only pays about $15.40/hour and it only lasts 10 days. it should be okay since it's scripted and outgoing calls. anyway, the new place is great. me and linda have been taking strolls to the darling harbour every night. the other night we decided to go grocery shopping downtown and ended up lugging everything home. after 40 minutes of walking with 2 heavy bags on each arm, we decided we're never doing that again!!!! but hey just think of the weight I could be losing if I do that every night. last night on our evening stroll I managed to see a cockroach!!! needless to say I FREAKED out and ran off screaming, arms flailing!! haha and the funny thing is linda followed me even though she didn't see the roach. that's about it for now. I really want to get a fun job to pass the time here in sydney. sydney for me right now is home without the family and friends so I guess it's not all that great! I dunno, just feeling a little homesick and missing cujo and my grandma's meatloaf. I'll just do some suntanning on the balcony later with ipod in hand and everything should be alright! no worries~! anyway will probably try to update again this weekend if I don't have internet access at work! wish me luck :)

Hi Jazzers,

You must be getting pretty svelte-looking with having to walk 30 minutes each way to the internet place. And carrying heavy bags of grocs is good as a weight-bearing exercise. Great for the bones! Ha, ha. Yikes roaches. How big are they downunder? Good luck on your first day at work tomorrow. We're sure that once you have an established routine and get into the swing of things, that feeling of being homesick will soon dissipate. Give yourself a pat on the back for being so gutsy and trekking all the way down under in search of adventure. Only four more teeth whitening strips to go before Aloha land beckons us. I'm trying to curtail the amount of clothes and shoes to take. Anyways, hope to connect with you somewhere along the way. Stay healthy and safe. Keep :) ing.

Cockroaches are always fun to see on a holiday! NOT. Ok, enough 90's talk, you aren't missnig anything here in Canada, Ralphy's announced his run for election again (whoopee) and we still have snow everywhere. Everyone is hoping that the temperatures will go above 0!
Ha ha, you're gonna have to get one of those granny carts to lug all those groceries back and forth. What about the bus? Good way to check out the local selection...hee hee
I know you think I"m crazy, but if you live anywhere near these places:

check it out and pick up some cool badges. A lot of them don't even say girl guides...you also might be able to meet some cool people that way, go camping with the locals etc.
Anyway, better go work! Good luck with the cockroach!

Hey Jashk,
I know I am such a slacker as I haven't put a comment on until now, but I have been working like mad. Anyways thanks for calling the other day it was really nice to hear your voice. It's not the same without you at Grandma's (should I send you some meatloaf? just kidding). But I have to start the drive out to the LLS, so I guess good luck at work! Oh ya I'd run from the cockroach too.
