June 05, 2005Madrid - Prado
Today, John and I packed a lunch and headed to the Prado, Spainīs most famous museum. It was INCREDIBLE. All I could think while enjoying this spectacle is "the Louvre sucks", which is not true, but gives you an idea of how amazing this place really is. We saw much art, notably by El Greco, Bosch, Goya, Raphael, Titian and Caravaggio. It was Sunday, and therefore all visitors got free admission, something that allowed John and I to splurge on audioguides, postcards and an expensive paper. On our way there, we sat in a Starbucks and gazed across one of Madridīs beautiful plazas. This city is a glorious, overwhelming place, and I really like it here. It is hot, but shelter is always available at the beautiful parks that seem to be on every street corner. John and I are going to soon head east towards Alicante, and visit friends we have there, and I am sure we are going to have a fantastic time. Comments
It's a hot day in Mtl. ("feels like 31 deg's). I've never been to Spain. Can you send me a postcard? Thanks again for the phone call from Paris! Nice to know for sure that your still safe and sane.
