May 28, 2005European Cup Final
How it can suck to watch your team lose. My trip to Turkey was complicated to say the least, and when we were 3-0 down to AC Milan by half-time, I was heartbroken. However, we won! We WON! (I love typing that.) Liverpool came back from a 3 goal deficit, against one of the best teams in Europe, to win the Champions League. It had to be decided by a penalty kick shootout. I can't believe it, everyone was crying and going mad, celebrating the impossible. The whole trip was rather crazy - getting home, we were delayed for two hours and I didn't even fly back on the correct plane, but I actually escaped quite easily - some people were delayed for days, and then flown to the incorrect airport. The reaction here in England has also been intense, and the stadium, I've never seen anything like it. Two-thirds of the stadium was full of Liverpool FC fans, and the streets of Liverpool were clogged with supporters who waited upwards of 12 hours for the team to fly home. It was an incredible experience. The game was very special - all good matches mean you have to suffer first, and this was eminently true. I have John and Will waiting for me, so I'll talk to y'all later. Comments
I'm so happy to hear that! (I guess you had a major increase in testosterone for the rest of the day). Later! Posted by: crystal on May 28, 2005 05:41 PMJane, Nick gave me the play-by-play of the second half of the game. I even recognized some of the names! (hehe) He's dying to hear it from *you* personally...also says that I should be sure to get it from you - nothing like a pitch-side commentary. :) Also, would you mind if I borrowed your Pilates video over the summer? Oh - today's wedding was beautiful, and the British aunt didn't stay here...there was a misunderstanding, I'm told. So, no more $$ for us. :( :) Posted by: Julie on May 29, 2005 12:36 AMOMGz0rz, happy dance! I'm glad you had a good time. You rawk. hi again, I put a freeze on videotron...we have to call to reactivate it when we return. Was there anything else I was supposed to do? love Post a comment
