Pictures From All Over the Place

(Huey) We finally managed to find the right computer-internet connection combination, so here are a bunch of pictures...

Candy candy candy...she found more candy.....hmmm. Must admit its pretty good too. View image

While hiking up in the mountains we came across a lost village. View image In the village were unique mountain people whom no man has ever seen before, not even the local Vietnamese, let alone this Vina-Bung pair of travelers (Bungary means Bulgarian in Vietnamese). As we walked into the village all the villagers came out to see who we were... View image We traded them some cigarettes for some rice wine and left in peace.

We knew this must have been a special pagoda when we approached and saw the beautiful flower breaking through the concrete bricks. Surely there must be enlightenment to be found inside. View image Nothing however could have prepared us for our meeting the enlightened of the enlightened....Mini-Disco-Buddha-Boy. We sat down to have tea with the enlightened one and traded stories about Ibiza. We agreed that we would meet again at Space. View image He showed us around and also showed us the nursery where new mini-disco-buddha babies were born.View image

Birds...Depsite the asian bird flu people still handle and eat chicken. You probably wouldn't catch anything unless you worked in the industry, but it seems like everyone avoids chickens. View image While in america we have heroes such as Rocky, the italian stallion, here in Vietnam we have Cocky, the Filipino Gallino. The monument to Cocky, pictured below, was in memory of his 35 wins and no losses, at the cock fight stadium in Halong city. View image

The imperial city of Hue sits along the banks of the Perfume river, with the Citadel on one side and the bustling city on the other. There are three bridges that connect the two sides of the river. We thought Steph and Robin would like this one. View image

Hi,

Fine you got some candies in - what seems a very far away destination. Having in mind that the next picture is from a lost village.

Nikolay and I wonder where you got the cigarettes you traded for "some rice wine"?

I - La Joja, visited Asia some 25 years ago. I was in India and Pakistan. I think this a different world - not only another continent. The pictures you sent are incredible. We were impressed by the scenery - your previous postings.

As to the big bamboo - please ask how they manage. Irina bought a little bamboo for me and Nikolay is complaining it is not growing fast enough.

One more lady-like inquiry - what is the Perfume river? Why do the Vietnamese call it like that?

We are proud of you - gteat explorers and heroes.

Love

El Jojon and La Joja

Looks like Columbus has discovered the west. But like the one in Barcelona, is he pointing in the wrong direction?

Can you ride those big animals with the horns (what are they called? Water buffallos?)
