Doing a little surfboard shaping out here....just got my hands on a 5' 7" twin fin fish shaped by the original Sunshine guy! The logo was turned around on it so its a real one of a kind! I hear you all are surfing in trunks these days! Time to come home. Looks like a good start to hurricane season! See you all soon. -b "the storm must come..."

Hey All,
Moved to Rincon! What a spot! Called a surf school while sitting in the airport on my way home...they said to get to Rincon as fast as I could. Started working the next day! Bought a 70s Malibu, 350$ runs great. They call her Blue Crush. Its been owned by every surfer girl on the island for the past 20 years. Sticker reads: "Tell my boyfriend I'm surfing." Thats cool...I can roll with that. Staying at a little house on a point overlooking sandy beach. I can check the waves from my window! Had two good swells since I have been here...one snapped the longboard I took so long to put back together. Local surfers are used to the big waves so its a lesson in seeming like you know what you are doing every time it gets big. Season has come to an end so lessons are sparse and big wave sessions are coming to an end. Most everyone has gone home....nice for getting to know the off-season crowd. Lots of NY surfers seem to make this place their second home...some great...some not so great. Anyone thinking to come here, I would try to get it on the tail end or at the very begining of the season to avoid crowded breaks. I'm Back to NY on the 1st of July for some Rockaway action! Miss all you crazy Rock surfers! See you all soon! Get ready for some Hurricanes!!!! The STORM MUST COME.... -ben

Hi everyone,
I have moved to Tortola and the winter waves are great. I am living at a hostel called Near-D-Beach. Its run by a retired NY Cop and her husband who is a retired MTA driver. The place is great and and very "near to the beach." I have been surfing most every day. We have cows and chickens in the front yard. Im trying to get the red motor bike over from St. John to make transport. less $$ . No luck so far. I have applied for a job at a sculpture studio not far away, but living and working here is a hard thing to do unless you are British. Have not been close to internet for some time. Will try to keep up better on the blogs from now on. Peace, -ben

Hey All,
I have moved onto a 30' sailboat! Lucky find. The guy wants me to all the sanding and varnishing on the interior. Not a bad exchange for living free. Its hard to climb on board though when its late all you want to do is roll into bed. Its a long row out after a late night on the town. Just getting this blog thing worked out so here is a new entry at last! -b

This is a web site dedicated to the endless surf adventure. It's about seeing the world, learning, and being a traveling artist... Its also about surfing and living out a dream. This is to let everybody know that they too can do this. It's not that hard... you just have to do it...and say "I'm off."
I grew up in Cambridge MA. and was living in New York for the past 4 years. I love New York but it was time to take a break. I left my chowder/surf bar behind and hit the road. New York is a wonderful place to live but its not the only place on earth! I thought it was time to take a risk and see the rest of the world.
I packed my camera, surfboard, and ukulele. I was not sure I was going to do it, but on a vacation with my family on St. John Island, I made up my mind and let the family know that I wasn't coming home with them.
So, here I am on St. John. Working at a chinese take-out joint as a delivery boy, and surfing St. Thomas and Tortola, the first leg of my endless surf adventure!
