However, in the past, when both groups did not have a cash based economy, they obviously used some of the same natural resources..such as bark cloth, and fibers from similiar plants to produce utilitarian crafts. The Ngobe are the only group in Panama to have adopted the ¨Mother Hubbard¨type of dress-and, the only group to decorate it with contrasting zigzags and so on.
