Kathmandu we love you!

nepal.JPG

Just a very quick update, cause we are getting ready for the start of our trek to Everest base camp! Trying to pack everything that we require into one bag that won't crush our dear guide/porter. Needless to say, we are very excited and probably won't sleep a wink tonight. We take a flight to Lukla at around 7 am tomorrow morning and begin the trek from there. The first day is not too hard, maybe a 3 to 4 hr trek. The complete trek, there and back takes about 16 days, less if you are experienced. We hope to trek for 5 hrs a day, medium pace, so it might take the full 16 days.

Enjoying Nepal so much. Kathmandu is great and it definitely does what Delhi dont!!! Even went crazy and bought a new digital camera. A cool Canon 350D with a great lens. Couldn't resist. Missing my SLR too much and with Everest fever taking hold I just need a better camera. So watch this space.

Wish us luck. Should be arriving at EBC in 5 days time. Probably no contact for the next 16 days. I'm sure that I'll have plenty of news then.

Hi Gerry, Isabelle,

I am following your trip every single week. Best of Luck from Dublin.

By the way Gerry, how is your T'ai Chi practice going? I am still training with Owen.
Last week I was in the South of France for a ChiGung retreat (Dragon and Tiger). It was great!

Once again, enjoy your time over there and stay healthy.

Hi there Beardie & Issy,

Hope there is no cornflakes stuck in that beard. Seems you've been away for ages now. Hope you're enjoying your trek to Mt Everest base camp. Good luck to you.

All is well back here at home. Me & Sil joined a gym, cutting back on the booze and cigs. Not able for the hangovers anymore. I must be getting old.

Christmas is only 10 weeks away. It's getting cold here now. Maybe we'll have a white christmas.

Ben's pregnant so there's a few cujo's on the way.....

Talk to you soon

Con
